But what if I make a fool of myself?

For many people, this thought is uppermost in their minds when asked to give a speech. They are scared the audience is there to judge them, but they are not. They are there to enjoy themselves or learn something, and they want to feel their time is well spent. Do you go to a movie or a Broadway show and think, “I really hope this film/show is garbage”? Trust me, they want you to succeed and they will give you the benefit of the doubt. (And most of them are thanking their lucky stars that you are up there and not them.)  But, if this thought still keeps sneaking into your mind, the easiest way to ensure you do a fantastic job is to practice, practice, and then practice a bit more.
