Top Tip for Answering Interview Questions.

Whether you are being interviewed on a podcast or for an article, your goal is to respond as fluidly and coherently as possible.
However, many people feel the urge to jump in and respond as soon as the interviewer stops speaking. They have already worked out their answer while the journalist is speaking and want to share it as quickly as possible. This method usually does not serve you well.
The best approach is to listen carefully to the question and then take a deliberate pause and a breath. This way, you can organize your thoughts and work out how you want to reply.
By taking a beat, you will avoid using filler words (um, ah, I mean.) And by thinking before speaking, you are also more likely to stay on topic.
