First, ask these questions!
The most important aspect of any speech or presentation is not you—it is the audience. If you don’t connect with them, then even the greatest speech will fall short. So how do you connect? Before you start a speech, learn about your audience, and then ask yourself: what matters to them, what concerns them, what affects them, what excites them, what scares them? Speak to that. If you simply see yourself as a conveyor of facts, you have missed an opportunity.
